Travel from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp and back during a week-long Tibet tour with a private guide. Take in the many natural wonders and cultural treasures of Tibet, often referred to as ‘the Roof of the World,’ including Lhasa monuments like Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Then set out for the towns of Gyantse and Shigatse; see sacred Yamdrok Lake; tour the Gyantse Kumbum and Tashi Lhunpo Monastery; and cross over Gyatso-la Pass to reach the Himalayas. Marvel at views of Mt Everest from the northern Everest Base Camp in Tibet, where you'll spend one night next to the mighty mountain before returning to Lhasa.
