Explore pre-Incan ruins dating back to 200 BC right in downtown Lima! Long before stones were laid down to build Machu Picchu, the indigenous people of what is now Peru were constructing huacas (pyramid-like structures) for ceremonial purposes. Lima was constructed around these huacas, which means you won't have to travel far to see them! Your local guide will take you to two sites, Huaca Pucllana and Huaca Huallamarca, and provide historical insight into these temples that were built by the unknown 'Lima culture,’ an indigenous pre-Incan civilization.
