The hills of Chianti are the enchanting setting of an ancient Benedictine Abbey, la Badia a Passignano: engulfed in a sacred and spiritual atmosphere, it witnesses the presence of Florence in rural areas and the strong influence of the Medici who summoned famous artists to decorate the complex. The monks residing at the abbey, promoted scientific research and the conservation of the countryside through vine growing which is still the main activity in Chianti. The tour of the abbey is followed (or preceded in case of afternoon visits) by a visit to a winery and wine tasting. Durée: Flexible
