Leave your western customs in Tromsø, and immerse yourself in the ways of the Norwegian Sami. Visiting a traditional Sami camp near the city, the 2.5-hour experience introduces you to the semi-nomadic Sami people and the reindeer that are central to their culture. Feed the reindeer, meet members of the community and visit a teepee-style “lavvo” tent to try traditional soup and drinks, and listen to folk songs — all around a crackling camp fire.
